What a unique and pleasant experience to see your photos of mother’s vintage tea set. I am glad it went to a good home where it will be treasured, because it is a special one, isn’t it.
Your embroidery and applique is gorgeous; also the other people on this site are amazing crafters too and it’s been fun to browse here. I’ll link up to your blog from my blog if that’s ok with you. I looove tea! Let me know when we’ll have our Crafty Daisies tea party and I’ll bring some of my favorites. You know they say tea actually tastes better if it’s in the right cup. Sorry i got more excited about the tea than the towels.. no ideas there. I probably would just buy some and embroder on them. i would probly even get the ones that have the embrodery cloth on them already.. i’m such a cheater

Candace – check out terry cloth or terry velour. Its a bit thicker, like the stuff a bath towel might be made of, but it would be good to withstand a lot of use in the kitchen.

I too was a tomboy growing up with four older bothrs, then one morning BAM! I woke up dressed in pink lace with kid gloves. I never saw the girly coming until it was too late. Next think I know I am a crafting tea set collecting maniac.
