What a beautiful way to remeber you dad. I bet your mother was so touched by your gift. Another thing you can make is travel tissue holder to go inside the purse. I'm going to do that with one of my daughter's old clothes that she outgrew to remeber her when she was small:)

Thank you very much for sharing. I was so touched by how some just shine with the love of the Lord. The things you made were wonderful. I wish I would have thought of it when my brother died. God bless you and your family.

This is such a sweet idea. I will remember it and think of something similar to do myself. I have already made a "plaidypus" from one of my husband's old plaid shirts, a la "Plaidypus Lost", but this is a much more sentimental and important idea. Thank you for sharing.

Your father must be very proud of you and of the heritage he has left behind. Your daughter will know him through your eyes. What hope that you will both be able to see him again!!!

What a heartwarming story. I'm very sorry for your loss but you have wonderful memories to treasure. He has a lovely smile. My own father has been in the hospital for 8 weeks today. We are hopeful he will get strong again and be home, but we know it'll take some more time.

That is a lovely bag you made. Something very special to treasure.
You have a lovely site.

Have a really nice day. :o)

Thanks for sharing this. I just lost my Dad on February 6th, after a long, painful battle with cancer. He was only 53, actually, he was born just a couple of weeks before your dad was. Helping my Grandma sort through his things, I felt compelled to take home several of his western shirts. I hope someday to make them into a quilt.
Unfortunately, my Dad and I didn't have the best relationship, but in his final two years, he tried, in his way, to make amends. That's what makes his death even more painful, because I'm grieving for what might have been, as well as what was. You are so blessed to really have known your Dad, and have such good memories to share. I wish your family peace.
