Joy

joy.jpg Joy has always been obsessed with crafts. As a girl, her bedroom was her personal studio where she would knit, sew, and sculpt.

In Chile, where Joy’s parents were missionaries and Joy spent the better part of her childhood, old stuff gets reused and transformed into something new. She loves taking fabric or buttons or other old materials and incorporating them into new projects. For her mom’s birthday, in memory of her dad who passed away from brain cancer in 2002, she crafted his favorite sport coat, shirt and ties into a shoulder bag. dad-bag.jpg
In 2005 Joy helped start Bloom Craft Studio, a ministry at Grace Church to help women connect with each other through the common bond of craft.

What are her most recent projects? Video editing on her beloved Mac—“It’s modern scrap booking”—and crafting for her beautiful daughter, Lucy Adria: stenciled onesies, sweaters, scarfs, pants. Anything to make little Lucy look as hip as mom. lucy.jpg
