My pin-cushioned cry for help

February 8th, 2007 by Candace

So I wanted to make a pincushion that was jazzier and more *me* than the generic red tomato ones everyone seems to have. So with the inspiration of Heather Bailey and a pattern I drew myself and my new fabric I got on clearance, I made a new one!

Ain’t she beeeeeeutiful? One would think all was well and it turned out almost flawless. Until you look at it from a different angle:

Yipes! I have no idea why it did that. I cut each piece into equal pieces and was careful sewing the seams, and even tried to stuff it evenly, so I don’t get why it’s uneven. Any ideas?

it looks cool that way. :*) Tell people you meant it to be that way.

I think its obviously an organic psycadelic tomato, who WILL NOT BE TOLD what shape it ought to be, and has grown in this way but still remains beautiful and amazing!

My only thought is that the fabrics are of different weights, so once sewn together – they didn’t stretch evenly. But that is really just a guess. Remember, if you fail – you can succeed, just try try again. ;)

And it isn’t too bad really. You can still use it!

Haha, didn’t you just say it? It’s to fit you personality! ;-) I like it, it makes me giggle!

OHHHHH, it’s an HEIRLOOM tomato! I love it, and it has loads more character than those genetically engineered, pesticide laden artificially red and mass marketed red tomato pincushions you see out there.
