Bargain Yarn

April 11th, 2007 by Joy

This is the yummiest acrylic yarn I have found in a while. I was in Florida for my brothers wedding a couple of weeks ago and thought I would look through the craft section at the Walmart there. I was so excited to find this. It was 50 cents a skein!!! It feels a lot like the Angel Hair yarn from Joanne’s. Yeah I pretty much bought every one – I love it! I’m trying to decide what to do with it tho. I mean I can hardly think of anything but a scarf cause it is sooo cozy, but knitting a scarf in April?? Come on! Any ideas?

You could knit up squares and later (when you have used up all the yarn) and it is chilly again, you can sew them up into a blanket.

Perhaps you should knit a cozy for something. That yarn looks awesome and so cheap! The brown sort of reminds me of a cake….

How about a cute little vest (crocheted that buttons in the front) that you could throw over a tank or a little dress in warmer weather.

Did you see that laptop cover from Canadian Living on Craftzine?

That would be such a groovy kinda thing to own in this yarn.

That is a bargain that same yarn was twice as much in our Califonia Walmart.
    Pretty colors though.

You could knit a scarf up here in CT. It’s freezing. Literally- it was raining ice pellets this morning. The rest of the day it dumped rain, but combined with the wind it was even worse. I am NOT a happy camper.

That yarn looks like a ripple afghan done with a large hook. However, it would make a really lovely shrug. I like shrugs. Nice for the climate here in Texas. Good luck with you decision. Minnie

[...] Been working on a few things. Thanks for your help with this yarn I just couldn’t do anything but a scarf. I know it’s getting warm here too but it is going to be soo yummy this winter. My winter self will thank my spring self for knitting it. [...]

also at the dollar store. this makes great doll blankets and pillows if you have small children or grandchildren. and of course scarves – Christmas presents can never be finished too soon. :O)
