Craft Swap Reminder & Ideas
May 4th, 2007 by CandaceFor those participating in our Summer Craft Swap, today is the deadline to send off your packages. If you can’t get your packages out today, please let me know (if you haven’t already). We’ll be posting pics of the items that were exchanged and will hopefully have those up in the coming weeks.
For those who missed the sign up, we’ll be doing another swap at the end of the summer, so please check back. We’re not sure what kind of swap we want to do yet and are open to any ideas or suggestions. We were thinking of maybe doing a particular color-theme, or maybe a kitchen swap. Any thoughts?

I got my box yesterday and I love my new bag. My daughter was especially excited about the things Sara thoughtfully included for her. Dinosaur girls rock.
As to future swaps, I like the project swap. Other possibilities could include a recycled something swap, e.g., a plastic bag knitting project, paper beads, sweater bag or something along those lines. We could also have an office theme that could include cards, magnets, thumb tacks, folders, pencil holders. (Yeah, yeah, I know I’m just fishing for a fun way to reorganize my work space.)
Anyways, loved your swap and looking forward to the next one.

What about a “use what you already have/use up your scraps/recycling” swap? I am just stealing the basic idea from Simone.

I sent mine out last Tuesday…..it was so much fun to do! Thanks for the organizing.
My vote for the next one is a “use what you have” swap.

Hi all,
Today I received a treasure trove from Bethlehem Pa! M.A. – you rock!!! Included in my package was a hand crocheted clutch, beautiful yarn from England, a hand embellished notebook, totally cool vintage rick rack, a stack of fabric stash, lots of sewing notions, and a quilted star! Each piece is terrific – I can’t possible choose a favorite!!! Thanks again to M.A. for the thoughtful package and to Craft Daisies for organizing the swap. You can see the incredible ‘stuff’ on my website: http://capital-sew-and-sew.blogspot.com/

I got great stuff from Lauren Gibbs and I hope she got my package. She made a bunch of little stuffed springtime fun critters like a sun and a starfish and a strawberry and a tiny ice cream cone and many more. There were cloth prints she made in classes and local sand and it was all wonderful. Thanks again!

Follow my blog to see pictures of what Antelope Baby sent in the swap. There is a felt apple pin, a pen case, cosmetic bag, a little felt bag and shrink plastic earrings, all things that she made. And then lots of other goodies. Thanks again http://janesdesign.blogspot.com/

I sent my package out on May 4 and already received mine yesterday from Sandra in Toronto! I will post photos of both packages on my blog sometime this week. As for ideas for the next swap, I organized something fun on swap-bot.com and I think it worked out smashingly! Everyone in the swap listed 5 words (it could be 10) that describe an image or idea or motif that means a lot to them or just makes them happy, for example: hugs, polka dots, bunnies, daisies, apple green, paisley, joy, dreams, sunshine, etc. Then the partner puts together a package of goodies depicting those words in some way that’s appropriate to their profile or hobbies, for example: stickers, fabric, magnets, books, bookmarks, notepads, key chains, ephemera, post cards… you get the idea!

Yay!!!!! I got my awesome package today from Jeannie of Whatthehay. I have my pics posted on my blog. (I really hope my package will live up to it. Her stuff was so great and so thoughtfully chosen.) This was alot of fun. Thanks for swap hosting!

I haven’t received mine yet, either, and I haven’t heard from the recipient. Andrea, Prita, and Patricia — do you eagerly check the mail everyday?? I can’t wait!!

I got my box! It was great and I had so much fun in the swap!
In the box I sent out, I kinda went with the recycled theme – using what I had or items that were recycled somehow. It turned out really well and I think Elizabeth (Crafts of Destiny) really liked it.
Thanks for organizing this – can’t wait to do it again!
